The new Mystery Shawl Crochet-a-long is coming in a mere 5 more days!! Woohoo!! In honor of National Crochet Month (aka, NATCROMO), I’m offering up a free pattern here on my blog to any and all who would like to join in. I hope you do!
All you need for this shawl is about 1,000 yards of laceweight yarn–whether it be brand-new, from a frogged sweater from the thrift store (oooooo….cashmere!), or even cotton sewing thread–and a size E/3.5mm crochet hook. If you choose to use a heavier-weight yarn (fingering is really nice!) be sure to increase your hook size accordingly if you want a similar drape or results to what I and the testers have worked.
The shawl will make a really nice shawl for the warmer months when the evenings are a tad chilly. It is worked in one piece and in the round, and the pattern is simple enough for an advanced- beginner who wants to hone skills or learn new ones.
So, keep coming on back every week to see the new clue, which will be posted every Sunday in March this year and the final pattern will be posted in April, as well as a final picture. I hope you join us!
