Here is an adaptation to the shawl, if you don’t like so much ruffling and/or want the yarn to last a little longer.

Work Rounds 5 and 6 twice, working into the ch-5 spaces as needed. Then work a Round 7. If you want to, it might even work out with yet another repeat of Rounds 5 and 6 (that is, you’d be working Rounds 5 and 6 3 times before working Round 7, which is the Dogwood round). I am experimenting with it, and it seems to be working out fairly well.

Here she is, folks! Clue #5!

In Uncategorized on March 29, 2009 at 5:16 pm

This is the last clue of our wonderful, month-long CAL! Everyone has been wonderful, and I may post some adaptations so that we can get the yarn to stretch out a bit longer and to cut down on some of the rufflage. Anyway, here is the last clue, which is the very last round: The Edging.

Edging: Sl st into ch-2 sp, ch 2, (dc2tog, ch 5, sl st in 4th ch from hook—picot made, 3-dc cl, p, 3-dc cl) in same sp, *(ch 5, sc in next ch-4 sp) 4 times, ch 5, (3-dc cl, ch 5, sl st in 4th ch from hook) twice in ch-2 sp, 3-dc cl in same sp. Rep from * around, join w/ sl st to top of 3-dc cl. Finish off. Block according to fiber manufacturer’s instructions.

Clue #4 :)
